KIWIOZ NANNY-SHARE INFORMATION
A Nanny-share is where two or more families share the cost and responsibility of employing a nanny to look after both families children. Nanny-shares are ideal for families with children of approximately the same ages. There is a maximum of 4 children at any one time and no more than 2 under two’s at any one time.
Q. If I have already found another family to Nanny-share with, can we still use your services?
A. Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange for our Recruitment Consultant to call and personally gather all of your requirements so that we can begin the nanny recruitment process.
Q. If the other family needs our nanny for 8 hours one day, but I need her for 5 hours that day, do I need to pay the full 8 hours?
A. No. You only pay the nanny for the hours that she is contracted to work for your family at the agreed hourly rate. For example, for 5 hours she is to be paid $25 per hour for nanny share and $22 per hour for just one family. (Rates dependant on nanny qualification/experience).
Q. Where will the children be looked after?
A. The share arrangement can be at either of your homes. Some families alternate between the two. Please take into consideration sleeping arrangements for two babies, the home layout (e.g. if you have stairs) and child-friendly attractions close-by (e.g. park, playground).
Q. What items are needed for a Nanny-share arrangement?
A. You will need things like a double pram, a portable cot and a high chair per child if applicable. Both houses will need to meet the Hop Skip Learn Home Safety Check and a police check is required of all parents which KiwiOz will manage.
Q. Can both families claim the childcare subsidy with a Nanny-share?
A. Yes both families are able to register for our Hop Skip Learn programme and receive the subsidy funding towards your childcare costs providing they meet the Hop Skip Learn requirements. This is $1.50 per hour for 6 hours per day for under 2 year olds, $1 per hour for 2 year olds & $4.50 per hour for 3 & 4 year olds not using their 20 hours ECE elsewhere.
Q. Will my nanny be qualified?
A. Our Nannies are professional career nannies with at least 2-5 years of professional experience working in the childcare sector. However we do offer a junior Nanny option. Nanny-share nannies will have previous Nanny-share or twin experience. Some have a childcare qualification, all have up to date reference checks, a police clearance and a First Aid certificate.
Q. Are there any upfront costs?
A. It is free to register and free to meet as many families/nannies as you like until you find the perfect match. When your Nanny has accepted your job offer, a recruitment fee of $275 (per family) is due if you are on the Hop Skip Learn Programme. If you are not eligible for this Programme, then there is a fee of 5% of the Nanny's gross annual salary (split between two families).
