KIWIOZ NANNYSHARE INFORMATION
A nannyshare is where two or more families share the cost and responsibility of employing a nanny to look after both families children. Nanny shares are ideal for families with children of approximately the same ages. There is a maximum of 4 children at any one time and no more than 2 under two’s at any one time.
Q. If I have my own family to share with, can we still use your services?
A. Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange for our agency representative to call out and personally gather all of your requirements so that we can begin the recruitment process.
Q. If the other family needs our nanny for 5 hours one day but I need her for 8 hours that day, what do I pay for the extra hours?
A. You would have to agree with the nanny pay the additional hour at the nanny's usual hourly rate. For example $24 per hour for nanny share and $21 per hour when just one child.
Q. Which house do we agree on for the Nanny Share to be in?
A. The share arrangement can be at either of your homes. Some families alternate between the two. Please take into consideration sleeping arrangements for two babies, the home layout (e.g. if you have stairs) and child-friendly attractions close-by (e.g. park, playground).
Q. What items are needed for a Nanny Share arrangement?
A. You will need a double pram, a portable cot and a high chair per child if applicable. Both houses will need to meet the Hop Skip Learn Home Safety Check and a police check is required of all parents which KiwiOz will arrange.
Q. Can we claim the childcare subsidy from having a nanny?
A. Yes both families are able to register for our Hop Skip Learn programme and receive the subsidy funding towards your childcare costs. This is $1.50 per hour for 6 hours per day for under 2 year olds, $1 per hour for 2 year olds & $4.50 per hour for 3 & 4 year olds not using their 20 hours ECE elsewhere.
Q. Is there a limit as to how long we need to have the arrangement for?
A. No, however we do suggest that you offer a minimum of 6 months so that there is consistency and commitment for your nanny and the other family. Then just 4 weeks notice when you would like to finish your arrangement.
Q. Tell me about your nannies...
A. Our Nannies are professional career nannies with at least 2-5 years of professional experience working in the childcare sector. Nannyshare nannies will have previous nannyshare or twin experience. They have a childcare qualification, up to day reference checks, a police clearance check and a First Aid certificate.
Q. Tell me about your babysitters...
A. Our babysitters are our qualified working nannies currently on our books. They are not just babysitters seeking an evening job, they are career nannies looking for extra hours on evenings and weekends.
Q. Are there any upfront costs?
A. It is free to register and free to meet as many families as you like until you find the matching one. If you meet a family and both of you are happy to proceed with the arrangement, there is then a recruitment fee of $225 (per family) when we find the right nanny for you.
There is no agency fee to list your potential nannyshare option on this page, to do so please email firstname.lastname@example.org, if you find a match that could work for you then we can pass on contact details so you can meet up and see if it will work, we will then help you secure a nanny for the role. Nannyshare rates start from $22 per hour which each family pays half of.
