Paying tax in NZ

All nannies need to be paying tax on wages earnt through KiwiOz Nannies.

If you work over 30 hours per week for one employer/family then the family must register as your employer. They can either use the KiwiOz payroll service or similar to administer weekly payslips, record holidays pay owing, make student loan deductions and Kiwisaver contributions.  As an employee you must complete an orange IR330 form before you commencing work. If this is not arranged before you start working please contact your KiwiOz consultant.

If you are working multiple part time positions under 30 hours per week for each employer in private homes, you need to contact the IRD and register as an IR56 taxpayer. This way you do not have to pay secondary tax on multiple jobs, you record the money earnt each week. To do this go to www.ird.govt.nz and type in IR359.

Temporary nanny jobs on a day to day basis will be administer through the KiwiOz payroll service where you will be paid your wages on the Thursday following the week you worked from KiwiOz Nannies.
